- Australia (577) registered their highest total in India, outstripping their 574 for 7 wickets declared at Chennai in 1986-87.- Australia's aforesaid total is their second best against India - their highest being 674 at Adelaide in 1947-48.- For the third time in Test Cricket, both India (613/7 d) and Australia (577) have recorded 500-plus in their first innings.- Virender Sehwag (5/104 off 40 overs) has produced his best bowling figures in Test Cricket, bettering his 3 for 12 against South Africa at Kanpur in 2007-08.- Sehwag became only the fourth spinner to capture five wickets in an innings against Australia at the Feroz Shah Kotla.
- Michael Clarke (112) registered his 8th Test hundred - his third against India. His career-best is 151 against India, recording the feat on his Test debut at Bangalore in October 2004.- For the first time, five Australian batsmen recorded fifty-plus in an innings against India. Overall, 39 times Australia have registered five or more fifties in a Test innings. - Clarke and Cameron White put on 106 for the seventh wicket - Australia's best stand for this wicket-position against India in India, eclipsing the 64 between Mark Waugh and Shane Warne at Bangalore in 1997-98.- White (44) registered his highest score in Test Cricket, eclipsing his 18 not out in the first Test at Bangalore.
